Yes, this limited release is a single origin dark roast (from coffee’s birthplace, Ethiopia), but with two distinctive processing methods, it offers twice the tasting notes and aromas. Punchy fruit and ripe berries come from natural process beans, while the washed beans offer perfumy florals and silky oolong tea.
In the natural process (shoutout to the oldest method), the coffee cherry is dried whole, like a grape is dried into a raisin, concentrating the sugars and imparting rich layers of flavor. In the washed method, seeds are squeezed from their skins right away and left to ferment for a day before being washed with fresh water for a clean, bright taste. The result? A delightful combination of tasting notes, and a real celebration of coffee and harmony.
